Ancillary 1 – Drafting Billboard Advertisements

This is my original plan which I scanned into the computer after drawing up a quick sketch.

Step 1 – I decided to use my other photography and used the black and white image as I thought the bright masthead I plan on having will contrast well with the colours.

STEP 2 – I then decided to pastiche the Masthead from my front cover magazine; this is the magazine I am advertising. Then I decided to change the font colour from grey to black.

STEP 3- I’ve decided to make the magazine billboard simple with the logo, a simple line and the magazine placed below to ensure it is clear to the audience what the billboard is advertising.

STEP 4- I’ve decided to experiment with bright yellow banners and black text which contrasts well.


STEP 5 – I decided to use the black and white image again and used the clone tool to ensure the fence finished to the end of the billboard and ensure a nice finish.

STEP 6 – I then decided to pastiche the idea of using bright colours, such as yellow onto the black and white

STEP 7 – I then changed the banner colour and placed the Twitter and Facebook links as many people own phones with both social networking site apps, therefore quick access

STEP 8 – I then decided to change the colour scheme to black, white and bright yellow; similar to colours used within the magazine.
